Keith Brown releases a strong album that displays his taste in keyboard concepts in a variety of settings. He mixes and matches between trio and groups with horns, as Kenneth Whallum III, Jamel Mitchell, Greg Tardy add saxes and Mike Seal’s guitar are featured on rich group settings like “Close Your Eyes and Believe” and “Ten Years of Turmoil.”

He mixes and matches between trio and groups with horns, as Kenneth Whallum III, Jamel Mitchell, Greg Tardy add saxes and Mike Seal’s guitar are featured on rich group settings like “Close Your Eyes and Believe” and “Ten Years of Turmoil.” Some rich wordless vocals are delivered by Tamara Brown on “Close…” and”The Journey” while Vance Thompson’s flugelhorn adds rich cirrus clouds on”FRC.” Bassist Clint Mullican gets a chance in the spotlight on “4G” as well as on the trio sessions like “The Narrow Road” and “The Biscuit Man.” As for the leader, he does some hip work with the Rhodes, while he tells stories from The Bible on “ Deception of the Heart” and “The Narrow Road”. Impressive in its width and depth.
